Family comes to town

This past week my parents and little brother Dallin came to visit;  so Jack, Derek and I all packed up and went and stayed with them in Newport Beach to make a little vacation out of it.  We had so much fun going on walks, playing by the pool, shopping, eating, and just hanging out.  Jack had a bit of a tough time not being in his bed and on his normal routine, but we still had fun with him.  He also had a lot of firsts: his first boat ride, his first swim time, and our first time out without him.  Here are some of those highlights and more:

Hanging out at Fashion Island

Taking a boat ride around Balboa
Jack's not too sure about the life jacket
First time in the Bumbo seat and loving it!

Jack's first pool experience:  He was a bit unsure about it at first, but then as Derek walked him around in the water he was loving it - just kicking his legs and splashing with his arms!

All snuggled up after his swim.

Update

It's been a while since I last posted.  We have been busy with the move, settling in, visitors, etc...  We are loving it and are so grateful to Derek's parents for letting us stay with them until we figure things out.  Here is Jack being such a ham... as usual....

Anyways, Jack is 3 1/2 months old and is such a happy baby ...minus at nighttime.  Before we moved he was only waking up once to eat, but now he has been waking up 3 or 4 times a night!!  I thought it might be due to the move, so I let it be for a few weeks, but now it's just tiring.  We decided to sleep train him and let him cry it out. Tonight will be the third night.  I'm fine feeding him once- it's just the other 2 or 3 times that need to go.  The first night he was so upset- he cried twice for 45 minutes straight!  Last night we put a 30 minute limit and would go in-not pick him up- just hold the binky and his hand. It kills my heart- but we have to keep with it now that we've started.  It's gotten a bit better- but let's pray it works! Any advice?

Other than that, he is a happy baby and super active!  In fact, this week he rolled over- twice!!  He was so determined and he finally did it! Here are a pictures of how he goes about it.
