Hawaii Bound

We're off to Hawaii for a much needed break from the day to day life. See you when we get back!

Jack-isms

Jack is so chatty these days, and he's hilarious. Derek and I laugh at him several times a day at his wit and humor. So I decided to start document his funny little sayings (not just in my journal) to have them printed in our photo albums (via Blurb).

Today I was putting Jack into his car seat to go to the gym. With mini car in hand, he reaches out and sticks it down my shirt only to say: "Mama, pocket!" ....I guess pregnancy cleavage makes for a perfect little pocket?!?

Free Tuesdays

Each month I look forward to Free Tuesdays. Growing up in D.C. we had endless amounts of museums to go to and they are mostly all free. So Jack and I try and take advantage of what we can get out here. Last month, we met up with some friends at the Encinitas Botanical Gardens. We've been a couple times, and it never disappoints. It's a great way to enjoy some beautiful plants and play outside.

This month, we met up with my BFF Erica and her daughter Camryn. We went to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center at Balboa Park. It's always crazy there on free Tuesdays, but the kids had fun and of course I loved meeting up! (unfortunately I couldn't get any photos of Jack and Camryn together)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has a love-ly Valentine's weekend and celebrate with those you love doing what you love. Our house has been hit with the plague (Jack's had the stomach flu all week as well as a double ear infection and a bad cought and Derek got food poisoning) so I'm hoping things turn around this weekend! Atleast we have some beautiful weather outside to enjoy through the windows :)

Building our Basketball Team...

...well not really....we probably won't make it to 5, but I guess you never know. Anyways, we are having another BOY and I couldn't be more excited. While I got along great with all of my brothers, there is a special bond between just boys. They will get into more mischief than I can even imagine, but I just hope they turn out to be the best of friends through it all. So here's to my future two little rascals!

My two older brothers, Shane and Tyson

Boys will be Boys

What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails, and puppy-dog tails
That's what little boys are made of

My boys are made of curiosity, adventure, energy and sweetness. Jack loves to keep us on his toes... from shaving cream and mascara to the need for speed!

Torrey Pines Park

Last weekend we took advantage of the clear evening and big surf to hike around Torrey Pines. We hadn't gone for a few months, so it was great to let Jack explore all over again. The weather was gorgeous, even a bit chilly, and of course the views were amazing!
