My spunky cousin Annette, her family and my Aunt Susan were all up in Newport for a week, so we decided to meet them in San Onofre for a bon fire. It's been too long since we've seen them- and too long since I've participated in a bon fire (sad, I know). The kids had fun playing in the sand, and I had fun catching up!
Last weekend Derek's brother Paul and his son Sean came in town to visit. We stayed up in San Clemente for the night to celebrate Paul's birthday and hang out. It's always nice to have a change of scenery and enjoy the East Coast visitors!
My friend Karyn was also in town that weekend for her baby shower. She is having a little boy and is going to make the best mom! It was a lot of fun to see old friends that I haven't seen in a long time!
This week I also had girl's night. We went to Rubio's and saw He's Just Not That Into You. I had already seen the movie, but it's always fun to get out with the girls to eat and laugh kid-free.
Jack continues to be curious about everything....as you can see here he discovered the chocolate syrup!

You are cute and I am sad I couldn't make the bon fire. We will get together soon...as soon as I figure out this whole 3 kids thing! XO
Hi Brit. I saw your post about floaties vs. vest. I have to put my two cents in. Last summer Tessa was about Jack's age now. I tried the vest, and she was too top heavy for it while wading around in the shallow end of the pool or ocean. It made her topple over. Floaties just aren't safe at Jack's age because they don't stay on for one. Really, all in all, I just ended up being Tessa's shadow all summer long around the pool, there's no other way about it. I think a vest is a good investment though, because if we were out on the lake or a houseboat, I would for sure would have her wearing a vest. It's scary to have kiddos when they can't swim, it freaks me out every year!!!
spunky? I will take it. ditto on nikki, cody, and tessa...I love the boat things, where you put them in the middle, are the best for little ones. This year P has done a vest but I hold her constantly, jack may be a little too little. have fun on your vaca, where are you going?
Uncle Shane would proud of Jack's Hershey Chocolate syrup heist. Especially since it was not the "off brand".
I love seeing updated pictures of Jack. He is seriously so dang cute!!! Looks like you're really enjoying the California weather. Jealous!
