Quail Botanical Gardens

Today Jack and I decided to take advantage of Free Tuesday and go check out the Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas. I had read that they added a children's section and was excited to see what it was about.

Here we are making our way through the gardens. They had all kinds of fruit trees leading up to the gardens then everything was split up by region...rainforest, South Africa, desert, etc...

The children's section was really cool. They had all sorts of hands-on exhibits like watering plants, life size tic-tac-toe, coloring, building, natural musical instruments, and more. The main attraction was this giant tree house that you can climb in. They also had a rock stream that the kids could play in. It was a great thing because it was extremely hot....but Jack got soaked! I wish we had discovered it last, because he did the rest of the exhibits in his diapers and shoes. White trash, sure, but I was a bit jealous b/c I was so hot and sweaty! We had fun and would definitely go again....hopefully next time it will be less crowded and not as hot.
