After months of dedicated training, Derek completed his first triathalon! He has trained for two others in the past, but there has always been a last-minute conflict to keep him from competing. Anyways, this time was almost no different. While our schedules were clear and we had no conflicts with the race itself, a large fuel tank ship ran into the Bay Bridge and spilled 58,000 gallons of fuel into the water. Instead of postponing the race, they were forced to cancel the swim portion. Derek was bummed because his swim was his greatest strength. Even still, I cheered him on and watched excitedly from the sidelines. I am so proud of you sweetheart!

Also, Britt, you don't even look pregnant in that picture! I am sad that I won't be at your shower this weekend:( We'll be in St George with Ryan's family. Know I will be thinking of you!!
